Root your 7" Pandigital Novel eReader to Android tablet

PANDIGITAL (Root your Pandigital 7″ White Novel eReader)

I had more sucess with the kewldude's flash file...so far the biggest deal was getting a kindle type ereader back on there...lol...

If you bought this, you have to root it. It’s one of the easiest things to root, and literally takes 2 to 3 minutes to do. Once you do this, you will turn this basic eReader into an Android 2.0 hybrid tablet. From here you will have full access to the Official Google Marketplace (Yes, full working access), plus be able to play games, stream music/videos, and a bunch of other goodies.

this is the holy grail for updating this ereader to a full blown tablet...

http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/14744-k ... ancements/

you have to slide the back cover off and remove the 1gig micro sd card to make this work...

took a day or so to figure out the "things" that you have to do to make this work but all in all we bought a 60.00 ereader and now with a little time invested have a full android tablet (est:199.99)

I gotta say android has a bunch of apps !

had to add flash 10.1

this is the first file you use and it basically adds a little more than you need...but that is good !

http://www.mediafire.com/?hb2s375fd5g17bw

OP_COMBO1_PD_INX7E_ENG_6410POP

at the link above is the file that does not have JIT and apparently that's where our trouble was I installed the one with JIT...I flashed it with the non JIT (OP_DVMNOJIT_PD_INX7E_ENG_6410POP) and it errored...then after pushing the rest button it restarted and we were able to access the amazon market....and now we have to ereaders one of which is waaaay more customizable...

tomorrow we will try installing the "panda home page replacement hack" with full commandline access ! :-o

when surfing around trying to get this done I came to the conclusion that there is missing information on these pandigital 7' ereaders that no matter where you go, it does not tell you the exact way to do upgrade...

here it is...

download the 3 files from this link and put them on your desktop

http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/14744-k ... ancements/

plug your ereader into the computer with the usb go to my computer and double click the sd card you have in the ereader and format what ever size sd card you have
unplug and turn off the unit

remove back and then slide small metal sd card holder and remove the 1 gig card
replace the back
turn umit on

plug unit into your computer with the usb
go to my computer open the sd card (double click)
drag the unzipped file OP_COMBO1_PD_INX7E_ENG_6410POP from the desktop to the sd card
unplug from computer and turn unit off

while holding the on and volume up buttons at the same time for 5 seconds release when blue pandigital screen appears
it will go to a little robot and a progress bar
it will reboot and then, plug into computer with the usb

open the sd card file from my computer
delete the unzipped file OP_COMBO1_PD_INX7E_ENG_6410POP
drag the file OP_MARKET_PD_INX7E_ENG_6410POP into the sd card
unplug from computer and turn unit off

hold on and volume up buttons for 5 seconds
when blue pandigital screen appears
it will go to a little robot and a progress bar
it will reboot and then, plug into computer with the usb

open the sd card file from my computer
delete the unzipped file OP_MARKET_PD_INX7E_ENG_6410POP
drag the file OP_FLASHLITE_PD_INX7E_ENG_6410POP into the sd card
unplug from computer and turn unit off

hold on and volume up buttons for 5 seconds
when blue pandigital screen appears
it will go to a little robot and a progress bar
it will reboot and then, plug into computer with the usb

open the sd card file from my computer
delete the unzipped file OP_FLASHLITE_PD_INX7E_ENG_6410POP

done

that will allow you to play vids and get apps

if you want to add anything else do it the same way...

very important to remember you must be logged into your gmail account and within 5 minutes you must download any free app after you install the android market...

skipping this or goofing around will cause you to have to start all over...don't make this mistake...

once the android market installs download any free app and your good...
