I too am being hit with unexplainable data charges. Please send me the info on the app.

I was averaging 60-80MB of data per month (on a 200MB plan) for the past 6 months when all of a sudden I am at 150MB in April and 180MB in May - and my actual phone usage is almost exclusively on Wi-Fi . When I prined out the wireless usage summary for those months I quickly saw an unusual pattern: Almost every night between 11PM and 11:30PM I am hit with 2.5MB-4.0MB of data usage! That is curious because my phone gets turned "OFF" (as in shut down) at 11:00PM, charged over night and back "ON" between 6AM and 7AM the next morning.

I have spoken with 7 ATT "specialists" who know nothing. I have had ATT install a new SIM card. I have had the local Apple Store techs test, retest and restore my iPhone. All without any apprecialble changes.

I have been told that my unlimited texts are "free" but if they contain a photo, that is charged against my data plan. I have also been told that (even when I am on Wi-Fi) that when I send/receive email with photos, the emails are free but the photos are charged against my data plan. My confidence and trust in ATT is Zero right now.

it is interesting *why* no one will admit who is uploading this info from your's and everyone elses iphone...on the new OS 5.1.1 you can choose to participate or not on anonymous data retrieval to apple...whether that applies to the internet media issue, that is unknown I'm guessing no...

once you are jailbroken there's an app to get from cydia it's called "privacy" which REALLY turns off the pipeline of data from developers and the data that is sourced by ads that you see on your phone...

good luck and check you PM box the name of the app that stops internet media is there !
